The American Basketball Association (ABA) #20 ranked Steel City Yellow Jackets are on the road Saturday afternoon, November 9 to take on the #11 ranked Buffalo eXtreme.

The 3-hour, 218-mile trek is the first road odyssey for Ace Pippen's club, after its 166-68 win over the Port Huron Cougars last weekend.

"It will take a team effort and relentless defense to win this game," wrote Pippens in an email. "We must rebound the basketball."

If there was an issue with an explosive 98-point win, it was with rebounding. Pippens was frustrated especially early in the contest when missed shots weren't finding their way into the tallest group of forwards perhaps in the team's 10-year history.

Jay Washington, Theo Braddy Jr. and Cordell Nicola all join an experienced Yellow Jackets squad with Dominick McClung and Justin Hamilton. Once this group of skyscrapers get to know one another and work as a unit, that aspect of the game should improve. Add Clifton McNair into the mix, and the Yellow Jackets are stacked in the paint.

In addition, the guard play, led by Kenny Holmes and Job Brown, are imposing. Add new, imposing faces like Tayon English and Terrance Holloway, add depth to the play calling.

Buffalo has played two games already, both against the Rochester Royal Ballers, winning at home 13-99 and 101-82 over the October 26 and 27 weekend.

Rich Jacob has a club that can score points. That's something the Yellow Jackets haven't had a problem within their annuals, but defending this team will be imperative in the early season.

The Extreme does have a tall inside game, led by 7'1" Pierre Sow.

Today's 7:00 p.m. is available on the Buffalo eXtreme's YouTube page.

According to Buffalo's website, general admission tickets to the game start at $99.
